bWyseFacebookStars.jpgAs many of you already know, Wendy and I believe that online reviews of your business are extremely important.  Online review sites such as Google+, Facebook, Yelp, CitySearch, Bing strongly affect both your local search listings as well as potential customer behavior.

Nearly 10% of all consumers read more than 20 online reviews before they will trust a business.  (Does your business even have 20 reviews?)  In general, consumers believe online reviews are just as trustworthy as recommendations offered by friends and family.

It is important to audit your online reviews on a regular basis.  Here are a few things you should be doing:

Sign up for Google Alerts.  ( )  Set up regular alerts to be notified any time your name and/or your business name is found on blog posts, articles and news stories on the Internet.

Determine which review sites are most import for your business.  In general, most businesses will find the following review sites important to their business:

  • Google+
  • Facebook
  • Bing Local
  • Yelp

Be certain to claim each of the listings for your businesses for the review sites listed above.  Always complete your profiles as completely as possible, including uploading images and videos.

In short, managing your online reputation is yet another element of your overall online marketing strategy.
