Social Media and Blogging platforms come and go, while only a few will stand the test of time. It is important to have a process in place for backing up and archiving your content from social media or blogging platforms. If the platform you use disappears overnight, so too, may access to your content disappear as well.

Here is a list of a few of the up and coming social platforms that have disappeared or been stripped down over the past decade:

  • Ping
  • The Hub
  • Surfbook
  • Yahoo! Buzz
  • ConnectU
  • Friendster
  • Orkut
  • Xanga
  • Ello
  • Eons
  • Digg
  • Pownce
  • VitalSkate
  • MySpace

Here are the instructions for downloading a copy of your Facebook Brand page content:

Log Into Your Facebook Account
Go to Your Facebook Brand Page
Select "Settings" from the upper right hand corner
Select "General" tab from the left menu
