Facebook Stats – Active Users vs. Likes
Written By: June ~ 8/13/2010

We had an interesting question pop up this week.  We were asked the difference between “Monthly Active Users” and “Total Likes” in the report that Facebook sends out about Fan Pages.

Monthly Active Users is the number of visitors to your fan page that have actively engage with your fan page – such as viewing the page, or clicking on a link in a post.

Total Likes is the number of fans of fan page.  This is how many people have clicked on the Like button at the top of your fan page.

The number of Monthly Active Users can be larger than the number of your Total Likes, since the fan page is public and can be viewed by those who are not actually fans.

Thanks for such a great question!  What Facebook questions do you have?
