As anyone who had attended any of Wendy’s workshops you’ve heard time and time again there about two hundred variables the search engines consider when ranking your website. One of those important variables is the speed of your website – how fast your web pages load. Not only will slow loading pages fall further down on the search engine results pages, but your conversion rate will drop by about 7% per each second of load time delay.
What can you do to improve the speed of your website? Only upload well optimized, light weight images. Here are a couple of tools to help you optimize your images before you add them to your website.
Tiny PNG - https://tinypng.com/ is an online tool where you can optimize your images for both image quality and file size. You can optimize up to twenty images at one time.
Compressor - https://compressor.io/compress is also an online tool where you can compress and optimize your images. This tool allows you to maintain the overall quality of the larger image.
As always, if you have any questions, or need any help with optimizing your images, don’t hesitate to give Wendy a call!
