Are You Lucky?

The Loser’s Guide to Getting Lucky!  I love this and it is so true!

Professor Wiseman is an English psychologist who has specialized in studying “LUCK”.  He has spent years performing experiments trying to figure out why some people are always in the right place at the right time, while others consistently experience misfortune.

During one such experiment he concluded that although lucky people seemingly have no insight into the causes of their luck, it is their thoughts and behavior that are responsible for much of their good fortune.

For the experiment he took a group of self-professed lucky and unlucky people.  He gave each person a newspaper and asked them to count the number of photographs that they could find in the newspaper.  He had secretly placed a half page ad, in big bold letters stating, “Tell the experiment that you have seen this and win $500.00”.

Interestingly it was the lucky people who tended to see the ad.  The unlucky people tended to miss it!

In short Professor Wiseman suggestions the following will improve your luck!!

1. Listen to your gut instincts – they are normally right!

2. Be open to new experiences and breaking your normal routine.

3. Spend a few moments each day remembering things that went well.

4. Visualize yourself being lucky before an important meeting or telephone call.  Luck is very often a self-fulfilling prophecy.
