For those of you, whom have never experienced the death of a loved one, consider yourself extremely lucky. Not only do you have the pleasure of sharing time with your loved ones … but you still have time to plan for those unfortunate events.
As many of you know, Wendy and I lost our Mom last year. There is absolutely no way possible to be prepared … but there are things that you can do today, to support those you love in the unfortunate event of your passing, and also if you are part of the family experiencing the death of a loved one.
Simply put … get your estate in order. Make sure you have a will, a living will, a durable power of attorney … and any other legal documents that will assist either you, or your loved ones. I know this isn’t something pleasant to think about now, however, now is the time when you are thinking clearly, and can make the decision to ensure your wishes (and the wishes of your loved ones) are carried out.
